POST-MASTECTOMY BREAST RECONSTRUCTION
A mastectomy is the procedure to remove one or both breasts, partially or completely. This procedure is usually done to treat breast cancer or as a preventative measure. A Post-Mastectomy breast reconstruction restores one or both breasts to near normal shape, appearance, symmetry, and size.
There are different types of incisions and implants that may be better suited for the patient’s desired outcome. Dr. Campos-Leon will discuss these options before the procedure.
Recovery and after care
After the procedure, dressings or bandages will be applied to the areas of incisions and you will be given an elastic bandage support bra to minimize swelling and support the breasts as they heal.
Dr. Campos-Leon will communicate more information about the necessary after care procedures following the surgery.
