CO2 LASER SKIN RESURFACING
Carbon dioxide (CO2) laser skin resurfacing is a non-surgical aesthetic procedure provided by Dr. Jaime Campos-Leon. This treatment removes layers of damaged surface skin in order to reveal smoother and healthier skin layers underneath.
Unlike other laser and chemical skin treatments, CO2 laser resurfacing can effectively treat relatively deep wrinkles and pronounced facial lines. This procedure removes facial scars, warts, enlarged oil glands, as well as corrects uneven skin pigmentation.
How does CO2 laser resurfacing work?
This technology employs short pulses of light energy to damage the outer layer of the skin, the epidermis, simultaneously heating the underlying skin, the dermis, to stimulate collagen production. This procedure results in better skin tone and texture. Dr. Campos-Leon performs the procedure after administering a local anesthetic.
What is recovery like?
After the procedure, the skin may appear red or pink for up to several weeks. Direct sun exposure must be avoided until fully healed to prevent irregular pigmentation. Dr. Campos-Leon will provide instructions for aftercare following the procedure. Complete patient recovery typically takes around two weeks.
